About the Portland Regional Gem & Mineral Show Association

The Portland Regional Gem and Mineral Show Association was founded in 1981 and Bylaws were adopted to include the following objective purposes:

1. To affiliate all non-profit, educational mineral societies in the Portland region, who may want to do so, into an Association to increase the knowledge and popular interest in geology, mineralogy, the lapidary arts and related subjects.

2. To conduct an annual Gem and Mineral Show, which is open to the general public, for the purpose of conducting educational programs in the form of displays, demonstrations, seminars and lectures.

3. To conduct its affairs without profit and to refrain from using its assets for pecuniary benefit of any individual.

4. This Association is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code 1954 (or corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Law).
